"Indonesia doesn't need the world but the world need Indonesia." Really? I don't think that it makes us feeling great to our nation. Either we are getting pessimistic with the attitude of our government including the public figures who are more focus on their own business, their self-interested, etc.
In terms of global social relation, we cannot say that we don't need other people as well as their capacity or resources. The reason is that we don't have everything around us; we may overwhelm by natural resources, but lacking in human capacity. So in today's world we cannot stand up with our own feet alone, we need other people, other elements of life. In this case we need to build up the mutual relationship to other people. Mutual relation is not based on self interest or any hidden interest from one side but it is more on how to each person can satisfy with the policies which they make.
Therefore it is not relevant to say that "Indonesia doesn't need the world but the world need Indonesia."
